The season 3 finale was a good watch if you didn't expect too much from it. The only downside was that it was a short episode so everything needed to be squeezed into it. It was basically montage songs back to back so Twilight being turned into a princess felt unearned. If that didn't happen, the episode would have been fine but then it would have been a sub-par season finale. The idea of Twilight being a princess is fine with me as it opens doors to new ideas and story. She achieved this status rather quickly in this episode but as Celestia explained to Twilight, she had 3 seasons to achieve it so it was sort of justified but not enough. I felt everything happened too quickly in this episode leaving no room for transition or development of the story. What lead to Twilight being turned into a princess just didn't feel spectacular enough. On the positive side, the songs were good, there were no villains and it had a happy ending.
